Caroline is an experienced expert in valuation and commercial litigation matters.
Caroline started her forensic career in 2003 and is a founding member of Tempest. She worked for KPMG for 15 years and spent 2½ years at Grant Thornton as an Associate Director. Caroline is an Associate Member of the Academy of Experts.
Caroline specialises in matrimonial and share valuation cases but is also experienced in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including consequential loss claims and transaction disputes. She has produced numerous expert reports across a wide range of commercial, matrimonial and transaction disputes involving various industry sectors.
Caroline has given evidence in the Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre and at a private arbitration hearing.
She is also currently a board member of an academy school with an oversight role and was a school governor for four years, focusing on school improvement and outcomes for children. Prior to that, she spent five years as a director, trustee and treasurer of a not-for-profit day nursery with a turnover of £500,000.
Outside of work, Caroline enjoys music, singing, and photography, and is a keen baker and crafter. She is widowed with two teenage children who she enjoys travelling with.

Examples of Experience
- Preparation of single joint expert reports on numerous occasions to value businesses, shareholdings and other financial aspects (e.g. liquidity, extraction of funds, maintainable income, Capital Gains Tax on sale/transfer of shares and property) in various matrimonial matters across a wide range of industry sectors.
- Preparation of accounting expert witness reports in various matters requiring business valuations and valuing minority and majority shareholdings, including: shareholder disputes; probate disputes, compulsory purchase orders; commercial agency terminations; warranty disputes pursuant to sales or acquisitions of businesses and group reorganisations.
- Engaged to carry out IP valuations and has considered assets including: websites, mobile phone apps, brands, client databases and performing rights.
- Preparation of expert evidence or advice with respect to numerous warranty claims pursuant to business sales and purchases. Assisted on aspects of liability and quantum for claimant and defendant on several occasions.
- Caroline’s valuation experience covers many sectors, including care, medical, travel and hospitality, transport and logistics, engineering, recruitment, construction and property development, and IT and software.
